This role is pivotal in driving the visibility and community utilization of local Community Centres and Venues.   • Hourly Rate: $51.00 + Super
  • Location: Northern Suburbs
  • Contract Length: Until August 31, 2026, Onsite

Key Responsibilities

As a Marketing and Promotions Officer, you will lead end-to-end promotional activities to ensure local facilities remain vibrant hubs of activity. Your duties include:

  • Strategic Marketing: Plan and deliver all aspects of promotions for Council’s Community Centres and Venues, including advertising, direct marketing, publicity, e-marketing, and branding.
  • Campaign Management: Support the development and implementation of marketing strategies, production of promotional materials, and ongoing evaluation/reporting.
  • Engagement & Activation: Support engagement plans and activation activities designed to identify, grow, and diversify facility users and hirers.
  • Community Outreach: Promote facilities specifically to service providers and community groups to ensure maximum utilization.
  • Digital Content: Develop content for digital and social media marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing databases, and EDM campaigns.
  • Market Research: Support the planning and distribution of research initiatives, including customer surveys and feedback forms.
  • Community Participation: Facilitate the active engagement of facility users and the local community regarding venue services and programs.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work with internal teams and external suppliers (agencies, photographers, videographers) to maximize venue positioning.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Qualifications: A degree or diploma in Marketing (or a related discipline) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: High-level skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM tools, and ticketing systems like Eventbrite.
  • Communication Excellence: Proven ability to communicate clearly with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage time, set priorities, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal direction.
  • Marketing Expertise: Demonstrated experience in developing online communications, social media profiles, and print media within a business or government environment.
  • Compliance: A current Victorian Driver’s Licence and a valid Working with Children Check.
